A connector lets two or more separate systems communicate with one another. But what exactly is the difference with an integration, and when do you choose which?

What a connector does

A connector sends or receives data between systems and can trigger processes in one or both platforms. This enables seamless collaboration and data synchronisation between different business applications. Connectors provide predefined methods for linking Salesforce to other applications.

Connector versus integration

While they are related, they differ: a connector works with fixed, predetermined methods, whereas an integration offers tailored solutions for data exchange and process automation. If there is no existing connector that meets your requirements, you build a bespoke integration of your own.

Off-the-shelf or custom?

For common integrations, such as Exact Online, SharePoint or Stripe, our off-the-shelf modules offer speed and certainty. For unique processes or niche systems, we build custom solutions that fit precisely. We often combine both: a proven connector as the foundation, supplemented with custom work.

Within the Salesforce ecosystem
