Which personal data we collect and why
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help with spam detection. An anonymised string derived from your email address (also called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available on their own website.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and view any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
When you provide data to us via a contact form (such as name, email address, phone number and your message), we use it solely to answer your question or request and to carry out our services. We do not share this data with third parties other than as necessary for our services.
Cookies
When you leave a comment, you can indicate whether your name, email address and website may be stored in a cookie. We do this for your convenience, so you don’t have to enter these details again. We keep these cookies for one year.

How long we keep your data
If you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata are retained. This way we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of placing them in a moderation queue. For users who register, we also store the personal information they provide in their profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left data with us, you can request an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete all personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
